01 — why it is built this way
most robotics education hands you a finished platform and an sdk. you learn the api, you run the demo, you never once see under the shell. galgotias university went the other way.
rather than relying on off-the-shelf platforms, the university has invested in building an open-source physical ai ecosystem from the ground up. students design custom hardware, develop actuators, build embedded electronics, integrate sensors, implement ai perception, and engineer complete robotic systems from first principles.
the point of doing it the hard way is that you end up understanding every layer of an intelligent machine — from the metal to the autonomy. innovators, not users.
